Trucking company fuels expansion, minimizes costly delays with managed network
“Why do I want to manage four different vendors, four different people, have four different numbers to call when we can run it all through one place that works at an enterprise level and can support us nationwide?” — IT Director, trucking company
A trucking company operating across several states in the U.S. needed a modernized managed network that could accommodate their recent acquisition of five terminals. The existing network needed substantial security improvements and the scalability to grow with pressing service demands.
For help, the trucking company’s IT Director asked managed services partner Spectrum Enterprise to bring the new terminals on line with the rest of his company’s network. To add to the challenge, Spectrum Enterprise was asked to complete network modernization of the two largest terminals in just 15 days.
Spectrum Enterprise set to work to make that ambitious goal a reality. Working into nights and weekends, and in close consultation with the trucking company, Spectrum Enterprise was able to link the terminals into the new network.
The IT Director is pleased with the outcome, as well as the prospect of further work down the road with a partner in Spectrum Enterprise who understands and prioritizes his needs. This includes his plans to further expand and improve services to meet the national demand for quality trucking.
The Managed Network Edge with Dedicated Fiber Internet (DFI) build includes the installation of new firewalls, switches and access points as well as a Managed WiFi system that provides the trucking company with SD-WAN capabilities.
