Why are my TV channels changing to MPEG-4 format?

To improve our network capabilities, we are updating our programming to MPEG-4 format. This means that, after this change, programming will be unviewable if your TVs are not MPEG-4 compatible.

Verify that each TV supports MPEG-4 Part 10/H.264/Advanced Video Coding (AVC), which can be found within your TV documentation.

If documentation is unavailable, you may also tune to Comedy Central after February 1, 2024. If you no longer see its programming, the TV is not MPEG-4 compatible, and you will need to act in one of the following ways or risk losing access to your channels:

  • Upgrade to a newer-model TV that is MPEG-4 compatible.
  • Add a device to your existing TV to make it MPEG-4 compatible.
  • Switch to our Set Back Box TV service.

We will continue to transition more channels until your entire package is updated.
