What are the impacts of my account transitioning to a new billing system?
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the client experience, we’re standardizing our billing processes. As a result, some of our clients may see their account transition to a new billing system.
Prior to the changes, we notify affected clients via emails, letters, and messages on billing statements.
See below for frequently asked questions about the billing transition.
Because numbering conventions often differ between billing systems, it is typically necessary to assign accounts a new identifying number during a billing transition.
If you manage more than one account for your organization, refer to the messages in the Billing Information section of your invoice to identify impacted accounts.
Yes. If you have established automatic payments through your financial institution, credit card, or other third-party provider, you will need to advise them of your new account number and remit information to avoid missed payments.
No action is needed if you have enrolled in Auto Pay with Spectrum Enterprise.
If you pay by mail, reference your new account number and remit information located on your bill.
If you require a new W9, please see our Taxpayer ID and Certification Form W-9 (spectrum.com) FAQ and refer to your current remit information to select the correct W9.
Your billing date range may have changed to align to a new invoice date, which could result in prorated charges or credits.
The recurring rates for your services have not been impacted by the billing transition, even though the amount due may be different than usual for a single month. See the Charge Detail section of your invoice for a full breakdown of services and dates billed. Visit How do I read my bill statement? to find the Charge Detail section of your invoice.
Your Spectrum Enterprise billing statement has undergone some important standardization updates:
- A new account number and a new payment remittance address are provided on the updated statement.
- If you have Fiber Internet Access or Ethernet services, the new statement includes your Circuit ID, the unique identifier assigned to your connections for certain services. Adding a Circuit ID to your billing statement makes it easy to receive support and match your billing charges to our services.
- You may see new remit information under Payment Options.
Furthermore, individual line items may display differently. For example:
- The Broadcast Fee was presented under Monthly Charges but is now shown under Taxes and Fees.
- Spectrum Business TV and TV Premier were presented as two separate line items on the old invoice. Now, it is presented as one line item under Spectrum Business TV Premier with a separate line item for the discount.
- Spectrum Internet Ultra was presented as one line item. On the new invoice, it is presented as two separate line items: Business Internet Ultra and the Ultra Bundle Discount.
Additional one-time changes
While the recurring charges for your services remain consistent during the transition, there are minor differences in taxes and fees on the new invoice. For example:
- Due to differences in how Recovery Fees are calculated, the total may be less on your new invoice than you’ve seen in the past.
- On October 1, 2023, there was a 5.3% FUSF increase. This may look like an increase due to the change in the billing system, but it is an adjustment that would have impacted your billing regardless of the system.
- Taxes and Fee were separated on the old invoice but are combined into a single line item under Franchise Fee on the new bill. While the single sum may look higher than any you saw before, that is because it encompasses three fees previously billed separately.
Spectrum Enterprise streamlined its service descriptions upon implementing a new billing platform. Your services and rates have not changed, but they may be listed differently on your new bill.

Spectrum Enterprise made some important updates to billing and payment remittance procedures during the latest billing transition. To avoid misapplied payments or payment processing delays, it is important to ensure that the following actions are taken:
- Payments should reference the account number (not invoice number) at the top of your invoice.
- ACH and mailed check payments should be updated with the information found within Payment Options.
- Third-party payments should be updated with the correct account number, due dates, and amounts. This may also combat potential fraud alerts that stop bank payment.
- If you use a credit card for Spectrum Enterprise Auto Pay, confirm the expiration date and update if soon expiring.
- Ensure you take note of your new payment due date, as it may change.
If you have enrolled in Auto Pay with Spectrum Enterprise and your payment methods were in good standing, we will attempt to automatically update your account. As we are not always able to fully transfer all payment methods to your new account, you should verify that your automatic payments are still scheduled once you receive your first bill following the transition. Reference our How do I read my bill statement? guide to see where your Auto Pay status will be noted.
Need to re-enroll in Auto Pay with Spectrum Enterprise? The easiest way to do this, plus view historical bills, set up paperless billing, and register for billing notifications is on the SpectrumEnterprise.net client portal. Learn more and register here.
If you have established automatic payments through your financial institution, credit card, or other third-party provider, you will need to advise them of your new account number and remit information to avoid misapplied or blocked payments due to potential fraud alerts. You should also confirm that automatic payments process successfully for your first bill after the transition.
If your payment method was expired or nearing expiration at the time of the transition, it is possible that we were unable to carry that payment method over to your new account.
Spectrum Enterprise now has a dedicated client portal where you can view and pay your bills, enroll in Auto Pay, monitor service tickets and more.
